چکیده
Process networks are execution models expressing naturally the parallelism of a computation. This way, process networks are studied as models for parallel systems and allow to design theoretical studies, analysis, and measures for the various problematics related to parallelism. Process networks are a natural intermediate representation for parallelizing compilers, where the front-end extracts the parallelism and produces a process network and the back-end compiles the process network to the target architecture. High-level circuit synthesis (HLS) consists in compiling a program written in a highlevel language (as C) to a circuit. The circuit must be as efficient as possible, while using the available ressources in the best fashion (consumption, silicium surface, FPGA LUT units, etc). Though many advances were achieved on the back-end aspects (pipeline construction, routing), the front-end aspects (I/O, parallelism) are still rudimentary and far less powerful than the approaches developped in the HPC commmunity. In that context, we have design a model of process network that fit HLS-specific constraints. Our model makes explicit the communications with the central memory and the parallel access to channels, and is close enough to the hardware constraints to be translated directly to a circuit [2, 1]. This intership aims at studying how to extend our process network model with modularity. That is, the possibility to view a process network as a process in a bigger network, while keeping the efficiency of the global system. Such a feature would enlarge dramatically the class of programs currently handled, allowing bigger kernels and irregular constructions. The student will:

A Micropower Current-Mode Euclidean Distance Calculator for Pattern Recognition
In this paper a new synthesis for circuit design of Euclidean distance calculation is presented. The circuit is implemented based on a simple two-quadrant squarer/divider block. The circuit that employs floating gate MOS (FG-MOS) transistors operating in weak inversion region, features low circuit complexity, low power (<20uW), low supply voltage (0.5V), two quadrant input current, wide dyn...
متن کاملA Deterministic Multiple Key Space Scheme for Wireless Sensor Networks via Combinatorial Designs
The establishing of a pairwise key between two nodes for encryption in a wireless sensor network is a challenging issue. To do this, we propose a new deterministic key pre-distribution scheme which has modified the multiple key space scheme (MKSS). In the MKSS, the authors define two random parameters to make better resilience than existing schemes. Instead of a random selection of these parame...
متن کاملImplementation of a programmable neuron in CNTFET technology for low-power neural networks
Circuit-level implementation of a novel neuron has been discussed in this article. A low-power Activation Function (AF) circuit is introduced in this paper, which is then combined with a highly linear synapse circuit to form the neuron architecture. Designed in Carbon Nanotube Field-Effect Transistor (CNTFET) technology, the proposed structure consumes low power, which makes it suitable for the...
متن کاملQuadrature delta sigma modular design with adjustable bandwidth and center frequency
In this paper, a flexible Continuous time (CT) feedforward (FF) quadrature delta sigma modulator (QDSM) with variable bandwidth (BW) is proposed. The modulator BW and center frequency (fc) are variable which can be adjusted with two separate parameters. The modulator signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) will be optimized by these parameters at every center frequency and bandwidth. The modulator BW is ch...
متن کاملModular approach for an ASIC integration of electrical drive controls
VLSI circuits design allows today to consider new modes of implementation for electrical controls. However, design techniques require an adaptation effort that few designers, too accustomed to the software approach, provide. The authors of this article propose to develop a methodology to guide the electrical designers towards optimal performances of control algorithms implementation. Thus, they...
